This later led to the birth of the name Likeminds Foundation Uganda (LMFU). This was started during the ashes of the COVID lockdown period and was driven by the urgent need to address the devastating impact of COVID 19 on vulnerable communities at the time. During this time, the pandemic exposed and amplified the existing inequalities which affected communities and families especially women, and youth coupled with the alarming rise in Gender Based Violence (GBV), unwanted pregnancies, school dropout rates, HIV and increased levels poverty among others.
These problems led to the coming together of likeminded partners to support communities in addressing some of the existing social, economic, health and environmental related problems
